An incredible true story. It shows the horrors of WW2 and what one man did to survive. He isn’t painted as a perfect person but someone who is headstrong, resourceful, and difficult to deal with. It depicts a strained father-son relationship and familial trauma. The author frames his father’s story with modern day anecdotes of his antics. Highly recommend, especially in today’s political climate.

Beautiful story about a family's love of the trees on their land.

I loved this story!!! I cannot wait for the next one in the series.
